Fourth Journal Assignment

• Pick your own paper on constructivism in the math classroom
  • The article should be at least 6 pages
  • Can be from a math ed journal or off the web
    • Some possibilities (note: you are not restricted to these!!!)
      • Arithmetic Teacher
      • Teaching Children Mathematics
      • Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School
  • You will hand in a copy of your article with your paper
• Write one page on constructivism in the math classroom
  • You may use quotes from the paper
  • You may reference another article you have read in another class if pertinent to your position
  • You may insert some opinions in your paper, I always like to hear what you have to say, but make sure you get enough information about constructivism as well
• Papers will be graded by:
  • content - is it a good summary of constructivism?
  • quality of writing - use good grammar, punctuation, etc.
