each section we cover. You are expected
to complete each problem by the given due date.
There will be homework quizzes given each class which will be taken
directly from the homework. You will be
allowed to use your homework to complete the quiz so it is to your benefit to
have the problems completed on time.
Computer Labs: There will be computer lab assignments.
Students will be expected to complete all lab assignments. These labs will be
graded. Labs are to be printed out
showing all relevant code and turned in on time. No late labs will be accepted.
Gateway Exam: In order to pass Calculus II, students
must successfully complete the Gateway Competency Exam. Students receive 3 attempts to pass this
exam. The first will be giving in class
on 10/14/09 Subsequent
attempts (if needed) will be taken in the testing center on dates to be
determined.
Computer Software: The primary computer resource will be the
computer algebra system Maple. SCC
has MAPLE at several of its computing sites as well as myscc.
Details can be found on my website.
Graphing Calculator: A graphing calculator is required for
this course. The suggested calculators include the TI-83 or TI-83 plus and the
Casio CFX-9850GB plus. NOTE: Calculators with QWERTY keyboards or those
which do symbolic algebra such at the TI-92s ,TI-89s,
Casio FX2 or 9970G's cannot be used in class or during an exam. You are responsible for
knowing how your calculator works!
